The Hot Cider to Keep you Warm All Winter

For the last four years, I’ve made a hot cider during the holiday season, and every year I adjust the recipe a little to make it better for next years batch. And now fours years later, I feel it’s finally ready for its Deeryard debut.

Ingredients:

8 cups apple juice (I had some extra apples I needed to use, so I did a little fresh-squeezed & store-bought hybrid)

2 sliced medium oranges + 1/2 orange hand squeezed

1/2 tbsp of whole cloves

4 cinnamon sticks

1 tsp ground all-spice

Pinch of nutmeg

1/4 cup maple syrup

1 oz raisins

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/3 cup orgeat

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker

Set on low for 4 hours

Strain all liquids

Garnish with a thin orange slide and a cinnamon stick

Serve warm or store in fridge for up to 5 days
